Objective:
-
Connecting to CGU VPN
Procedure
1. Search for "Cisco Secure Client" or "Cisco Anyconnect" within you search bar or applications window and open it.
2. In the first box that pops up you will enter “vpn.claremont.edu” and then select “connect”
3. Once it connects you should see a window with three sections. Don’t enter any information here yet. Instead, select the drop down next to “Group” and select the group you are assigned to.
4. After selecting the profile a new window will come up with a normal Microsoft login. Please enter you email address and password then satisfy your MFA Prompt.
5. After authenticating with Microsoft the client will connect but if you are connecting for the first time it might start an upgrade of the client. The upgrade should only take a minute or two but there are some important things to note:
• The new client will upgrade to version 5 which will have a new name which is “Cisco Secure Client” and have a new logo as shown below
• This upgrade will remove any shortcuts you once previously had to “Cisco Anyconnect” so you will need to recreate these shortcuts.
• The app will prompt for a reboot but you can cancel the reboot and do it at a later time.
6. Finally you will now be connected to the new TCCS “vpn.claremont.edu” appliance! From now on you just need to do steps 1-4 and it will connect without any other prompts. To disconnect click the AnyConnect icon in the top right and then click Disconnect.
