Objective:
-
Connecting to CGU VPN
Procedure
-
Launch Cisco AnyConnect then enter vpn.claremont.edu into the dialogue prompt that opens.
-
Once it connects you should see a window with three sections. Don’t enter any information here yet. Instead, select the drop down next to “Group” and select the “CGU General /WFH Profile”.
-
After selecting the profile you want you should see a Microsoft Authentication window. If you don’t see your profile already listed you can select “Use another account” and enter your email and password. Otherwise, select the account that you want to use.
-
After entering your email or selecting an account you will need to enter your password
-
After entering your password you will then be prompted for Microsoft MFA. Once the MFA challenge is accepted you will then be connected to the VPN.
-
After authenticating with Microsoft the client will connect but since you are connecting for the first time it will start an upgrade of the client. The upgrade should only take a minute or two but there are some important things to note:
· The new client will upgrade to version 5 which will have a new name which is “Cisco Secure Client” and have a new logo as shown here:
· This upgrade will remove any shortcuts you once previously had to “Cisco Anyconnect” so you will need to recreate these shortcuts.
· The app will prompt for a reboot but you can cancel the reboot and do it at a later time.
-
Finally you will now be connected to the new TCCS “vpn.claremont.edu” appliance! From now on you just need to do steps 1-4 and it will connect without any other prompts.
-
To disconnect from the VPN right click on the icon in the tray and then click Disconnect.
