You can use the Rich Content Editor to embed video and audio media from OneDrive through your CGU Student Microsoft Office 365 account. You can record your media in Teams, Zoom, or any other program. Save your media file (.mp4 is best) in your official CGU Student OneDrive to be shared in Canvas.
Several features in Canvas support the Rich Content Editor, including Announcements, Assignments, Discussions, Pages, and Quizzes.
Open Rich Content Editor
Open the Rich Content Editor using one of the Canvas features which support the Editor.
Note: The Rich Content Editor supports keyboard shortcuts. To view the Keyboard Shortcuts menu, click the Keyboard icon or press ALT+F8 (PC keyboard) or Option+F8 (Mac keyboard).
Open Microsoft Office 365 App Tool from Toolbar
To embed media from the toolbar, click the Apps icon [1].
To view the Apps icon, you may have to click the three-dot Options icon [2].
This menu displays up to five recently used apps, in the order of frequency. If you have never used the Microsoft Office 365 [3] app before, or if you have been using more than five external apps, you can find the app by clicking the View All [4] option. The menu will continue to update dynamically with the five recently used apps.
Embed and Preview Media
The Microsoft Office 365 app will open your OneDrive folders. Select the mp4 file you’d like to embed, then Embed, Save, or Submit. Preview your embedded media in the Rich Content Editor.
Save Changes
Click the Save button.
Note: When using the Rich Content Editor in Discussions, the Save button may appear as the Post Reply button.
